Creating art with a focus on sustainability involves using earth-conscious materials, even in traditional oil painting. By selecting non-toxic oil paints, eco-friendly solvents, and responsibly sourced brushes and canvases, artists can minimize their environmental impact.
Plastic pollution in the world's oceans is one of the biggest environmental issues of our time, impacting nearly 900 marine species. 2% of every order on MJR Studio is contributed towards The Ocean Cleanup.
Planting A Tree For Every Order
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
Through their leaves and bark, they absorb harmful pollutants and release clean oxygen for us to breathe. In urban environments, trees absorb pollutant gases like nitrogen oxides, ozone, and carbon monoxide, and sweep up particles like dust and smoke. Increasing levels of carbon dioxide caused by deforestation and fossil fuel combustion trap heat in the atmosphere. Healthy, strong trees act as carbon sinks, offset carbon and reducing the effects of climate change.
Cleaning up our rivers and oceans
The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization, is developing and scaling technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic.
Every year, millions of tons of plastic enter the oceans, primarily from rivers. And the plastic that’s afloat within the oceans isn’t going away by itself. To effectively solve the problem, we need to both halt the trash flow from rivers, and remove legacy plastics from the oceans at the same time.
